Our board is made up of a dedicated group of individuals with diverse backgrounds. Individually, they each bring a unique set of traits and abilities that are critical to the success of Youth Cycle Project. Collectively, it is their shared passion for cycling and helping children that truly drives our organization forward. We rely heavily on their guidance.
I am a wife and mother to 3 monsters…I mean adorable kids ranging in age from 12-16. When I’m not working for a living making false teeth with my father and brother or raising my monsters children to take over enter into the adult world, I like to spend time outside hiking, biking, swimming, and reading.
Kristen Cobb is first mom of two and second a Pediatric Occupational Therapist. When not trying to catch up with her two kids on skis or bikes, she enjoys all bodies of water, running, and time with friends and family. Kristen became involved with the Youth Cycling Project after her kids thrived from the My Bike Series and mountain bike camps.
Jim is an avid cyclist and skier. He has spent the last 30 years living in Maine exploring the great outdoors. If you don’t find him enjoying his local trails in Portland, he’s probably out somewhere, with his family and friends, exploring and building community. As a small business owner in Yarmouth, he was one of the first business sponsors of Healthy Kids, Happy Kids, now Youth Cycle Project. He has firsthand knowledge of the magic of YCP from watching his kids participate in the camps and events.
I am currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Maine, but while I have been at school I have found time to join the Umaine mountain biking club, which has become one of my favorite parts of being up at school. For the past few years, I have worked as a bike mechanic at Center Street Cycles, where I first started to help at Youth Cycle Project Events, and over the last two winters, I have occasionally assisted with Grooming the Topsham trails for fat biking. During the summer you can find me outside mountain biking, sea kayaking, hiking, backpacking, and just enjoying the outdoors.
